Discover the fifth Fashion Revolution by Kampong edition
Most of you might know by now that Chab Events in partnership with Vito (La Mamie’s) and Jeck Hyde has been organising a series of 7 parties named ‘Kampong’ where we aim to promote good music and sustainable living.
The fifth edition of Kampong took place on April 22 and kicked off Fashion Revolution Week with a bang at the Red Baron, Gillman Barracks where entry was free. This time, Kampong aimed to raise awareness about the need for more transparency in the fashion industry’s supply chain and ask the question #whomademyclothes.
Theme of the 5th edition : Transparency and Sustainability
We started the evening with speeches from the Fashion Revolution committee members and screened a documentary called Frontline Fashion which follows 10 up-and-coming designers as they explore the world of fashion and it’s true impact on the environment. We also partnered with sustainable local clothing brand Etrican who provided us with awesome Kampong crew t-shirts that were made of 100% organic cotton.
An amazing party with quality DJ lineup
The music of course, did not disappoint. Our DJ lineup grew significantly this time round to feature seven incredibly talented artists, including Brendon P, DJ KFC and Kentaro who spun only vinyl records, old-school style! Kampong revelers got to enjoy cheap drinks and freshly barbecued grub too as they danced till the wee hours of the following morning on the streets of Gillman Barracks.
